There's plenty of interesting things to see

What impressed me was the laid back atmosphere and how the venue stocks only local artisan produce as well as their own Angus beef. You can purchase wines, beef and produce on the premises or online. I think it would be hard to leave without stocking up with some of the amazing produce on offer.

I ordered a glass of Sparkling Lily which is brut style that is crisp and light. I loved it so much I bought a couple of bottles to take home. As well, I indulged in a grazing board that was bursting with the local produce stocked on the shelves and in the fridge. I was really taken by the Smoked Trout Pate and the cheese as I sipped my sparkling overlooking the grassed area and listening to the birds.

My visit was on a Saturday but I have been once before, when Great Lakes Paddocks have the Sunday afternoon free music events with a local band or artist. So do check out the website for upcoming events, it's a great afternoon out.

Great Lakes Paddocks Beef

The heard of Angus cattle roam happily on the lush green pastures of the Wootton property. Great Lakes Paddocks are passionate about producing quality beef using sustainable and ethical farming practices. The cattle are pasture fed on a rotational paddock system and drink clean water helping them maintain optimum health. A variety of grasses including kikuyu, rye and cow pea and preserve a couple of paddocks for the production of silage to ensure the cattle have plenty of quality feed all year round. It is important to Steve and Robyn that their animals have a quality life. The family actually spend time out on the property picnicking with the herd.
