Clarendon Forest Retreat Mid North Coast

Clarendon Forest Retreat Mid North Coast

Clarendon Forest Retreat is a secret hideaway on the Mid North Coast in the Manning Valley providing guests with secluded stays in stunning cottages in Possum Brush. Clarendon Forest Retreat sits on 100 acres with eight cottages that offer seclusion, tranquility and a comfortable country experience. You know you are heading to a secluded part of NSW when you head up Possum Brush Road and it turns into an unsealed road. It's a very pleasant drive up to Clarendon Forest Retreat and you don't need a four wheel drive to get there.

It was a beautiful winter's day when I visited Clarendon Forest Retreat without a cloud in the sky. In saying this, we haven't had rain for weeks so the paddocks were not as green as they usually are.

This spectacular location, has views of rolling hills, waterlily pond and is surrounded by trees of the Kiwarrak State Forest. For a winter's getaway, guests travel to Clarendon Forest Retreat because of the tranquility, fresh air, log fires and hot spas and in the warmer months there is the swimming pool to cool down or a drive to Forster Tuncurry or Blackhead and Diamond Beaches.

One of the activities available for guests is Clarendon Horse Riding offering tours with experienced guides. The trails are chosen for safety, scenic value and ride quality. The horses are kept at the stables on the property and are well cared for.

Other activities include bushwalking, tennis, volleyball and a swimming pool.

For those who have pets, they are also welcome to Clarendon Forest Retreat so this makes planning a holiday a lot easier for those who want their furry friends to come with them. There is plenty of room for dogs to have a run and a walk.

Guests can purchase local wines from Villa d'Esta or Great Lakes Paddocks from the office and order in dinner from local restaurants, but with an $80 delivery charge that can be quite expensive. Dining out the Nabiac Hotel is a very popular pub with the locals, it is family friendly and the bistro serves up good sized meals. There is a courtesy bus that can pick you up and drop you back.

The Kiwarrak State Forest covers an area of around 12,000 hectares and is located north of Nabiac and south of Taree and surrounds Clarendon Forest Retreat. There are plenty of bush walks to take in the forest.
