The Colonel's Cafe & Bar Forster Marina

Set on Forster Marina, the Colonel's Cafe & Bar is the perfect place to enjoy great food and views. The Colonel's Cafe specialises in seafood and also offers a range of steaks and gourmet burgers.

I visited for lunch with my brother and his wife on a beautiful Spring day. With views of Wallis Lake and the boats it was the perfect setting for a glass of wine for us girls, and Kev tried the local beer from The Coastal Brewing Company.

Be warned if you are drinking some of this local brew it has a slightly higher alcohol content.

We were not that hungry so we decided to share a Seafood Platter between us and it was plenty. The platter had fresh local oysters, prawns, fish and lemon calamari. The prawns were very fresh and served with a nice cocktail sauce, the fish was delicious with a crispy batter and the calamari tender with the lemon really making it stand out. We also enjoyed great service and it was a very happy two hours.

We were told that live entertainment can happen at any time! The owner has his guitar set up and when the mood takes him the singing and music begin!

I loved the dining area too, although we sat up on the stools and bench overlooking Wallis Lake, the inside dining area is nicely decorated and comfortable.

Forster Marina provides boat hire, kayaks and party boats.
