Valley View Farm Rainbow Flat
Valley View Farm is situated on The Lakes Way, Rainbow Flat on the Mid North Coast and specialises in growing organic garlic. Owned and operated by Adam and Karina Gersbach, Valley View Farm is a lifestyle that is built on community and sustainability.
Visitors to the farm (or online) can purchase a range of speciality garlic and condiments, namely:
Russian Garlic/Elephant Garlic offering a mild, warm sweet garlic flavour with a large easy to peel bulb.
Glamour an easy to peel garlic starts with a hot flavour turning sweet, and sweeter if baked.
Italian Red which is robust and easy to grow garlic; perfect for home gardeners.
Glen Large another easy to peel garlic with large juicy bults and is of the Artichoke variety.
Southern Glen is a large clove garlic, very similar to the Glen Large and originating from South Australia.
Rojo Del Pais Baza a generous size garlic with an outer layer of purple/ruby cloves that are easy to peel. The sweetness of this garlic improves with roasting.
Garlic chutney, picked garlic and garlic salt.
Valley View Farm offers a range of meals cooked fresh in the Farm Gate Kitchen. The cafe also sells sandwiches, cakes and drinks.
Farm Gate Kitchen uses local organic producers to supply paddock to plate meals where possible. Meals have a focus on the award winning garlic grown on the farm. Visitors can also purchase a range of delicious fresh organic garlic supplies including a range of pickled garlic, garlic chutney and garlic salts. The Kitchen is open Thursday to Monday 9.00am to 3.00pm.
The cafe offers both indoor and outdoor dining with rustic furniture and views over the farm. Opening in 2020 there will be on-site accommodation; an original 1950's two-bedroom farm cottage which is set amongst the working farm and the paddocks. This beautifully renovated cottage will have its own fully equipped kitchen, bathroom, bedrooms and a timber outdoor dining space. The cottage will be available for both long and short stays.
Valley View Farm is close to beaches and lakes and is between the bigger towns of Taree and Forster. This luscious 96 acre property is positioned in the Manning Valley and in close proximity of the Great Lakes.
The closest beaches are Diamond Head, Red Head and Black Head. During September to May, Black Head Bazaar is a community market that is held on the first Sunday of the month, in Wylie Breckenridge Park.
Opening mid 2019 guests and visitors of Valley View Farm will be able to take a self-guided bush walk through the 96 acre property including native forests and stunning landscapes.
