Recently, I became aware of a scammer impersonating me online and attempting to contact people using fake email addresses and false profiles. This individual has even used my photo and joined websites as a “member” to appear legitimate.


To be absolutely clear: the following email addresses do not belong to me and should be ignored if you receive communication from them:

How to Protect Yourself From Online Impersonators


Sadly, impersonation scams are becoming more common, especially on large online platforms. Here are some ways you can protect yourself:


  • Check the email address carefully: Scammers often create addresses that look similar to a legitimate one. Always cross-reference with the official websites.

  • Verify through official channels: If in doubt, go directly to the official website and use the contact form there.

  • Be wary of unsolicited offers: If someone contacts you unexpectedly offering services, discounts, or asking for money, take a moment to verify before responding.

  • Report suspicious activity: If you receive an email or message you believe to be fraudulent, report it to the platform (Google, Wix, etc.) and to Scamwatch in Australia.
